From 26 January 2017, in Olsztyn, Varhol will be exhibited. Famous CDs – famous covers, is a title for the exhibition that will soon be available in the Olsztyn BWA Art Gallery.
The exhibition will show about 450 covers, including 60 to which Andy Warhol contributed. The covers come from a private collection of a collectioner from Olsztyn, Jerzy Kurowski. According to Justyna Banasiak, a specialist on exhibitions and promotion of the BWA Art Gallery, it is definitely the biggest exhibition of covers by the king of pop-art in Poland. The exhibition will include covers by legendary ensembles: The Rolling Stones or The Beatles.
A separate part of the exhibition will be dedicated to Polish authors, among others Rosław Szajbo, Stanisław Zagórski or Marek Karewicz. The exhibition will be accompanied by an extensive publication describing the history of art on the covers, with the emphasis on the art of Andy Warhol. The publication will be enriched by reproductions of all the exhibited works.
The varnishing day will take place on 26 January at 6PM in the gallery (Piłsudskiego street 38) and it will be available until 5 March.
