The Maziarska Farm in Łosie that is an afiliate of the The Museum of Karwacjan and Gładysz Family Manors in Gorlice invites for a musical journey through Lemkovyna. This is the name for the song workshops that will take place 27 January 2017 in the Gallery of Art of the Museum in Gorlice.
The workshops will be led by Julia Doszna, a Lemko vocalist from Łosie. The workshops will give the opportunity to learn Lemko songs, passed among others in oral tradition, the songs which constitute the main part of the vocalist’s repertoire. Julia Doszna is popular in Poland, she also performs abroad. Her characteristic vocal, filled with emotions, has its amateurs among Lemko and Polish audience. Julia Doszna released 10 CDs. She cooperates with jazz, classical music and other artists amazed by the Lemko folklore. Nowadays she is concerting with a lute player – Antoni Pilch, presenting songs gathered by a famous Polish folklorist – Oskar Kolberg. One of the last mutual concerts by them took place 8 January in the church in Brunary. The artists performed old Polish and Lemko Christmas songs and carols.
The workshops are coorganized by the Culture Centre of Gorlice Commune, affiliate in Bielanka. The workshops start at 5PM.
