Within the Rusyn diaspora in the USA, events are going to be organized by some affiliates of the Carpatho-Rusyn Society soon. During them, the guests will get to know something about the history related to the emigration of Rusyns from the old country to the industrial centre, i.e. Pennsylvania at that time (particularly Pittsburgh city where tens thousands of Galicia inhabitants were going), or the history related to the background – the Carpathian Rus’. A meeting concerning the wooden architecture was also planned, as well as workshops on painting eggs and a meeting dedicated to possibly the most famous Rusyn in the world – Andy Warhol.
The first of the meetings organized by the Youngtown afiliate will take place on 25 February in Hermitage. A lecture entitled Uncovering & Publishing the History of PA’s Carpatho-Rusyns will be given by Richard Custer.
