A few days ago, the 30th death anniversary of the king of pop-art, Andy Warhol, was broadly reminded (06.08.1928 – 22.02.1987). With regards to this, various museums and institutions all over the world prepare exhibitions that present works of this eminent artist. Last time we wrote about two events that took place in Piotrków Trybunalski. Today we are informing about another exhibition that will take place in the Lublin Museum.
Within the exhibition in March, the museum wants to present works of the greatest artists of the XXth century. Certainly, there will be Warhol’s works included there that are stored in a private collection of Tadeusz Mysłowski. He is a known Polish graphic designer, painter, sculptor and author of many installations. In the 1970s he emigrated to the New York City, because of certain reasons, he took interest in Andy Warhol and his great heritage. The museum succeeded to negotiate with the collectioner that some works that are stored by him be exhibited soon.
The exhibition in Lublin will present almost 200 graphics altogether, from the collection of Tadeusz Mysłowski and his wife. Apart from Warhol’s works, there will be also works by artists such as Salvador Dali, Piet Mondrian or Pablo Picasso. Also, the works of Jerzy Nowosielski will be presented at the exhibition – one of the most eminent Lemko artists-icon writer, philosophers and theologists.
Opening of the exhibiton – 17 March 2017.
